Paula’s Choice RESIST Intensive Wrinkle Repair Retinol Serum Review
|When RESIST Intensive Wrinkle Repair Retinol Serum showed up in my January Birchbox I was super exited. I like Paula’s Choice products in general and my maturing skin appreciates retinol products. So this serum was something I actually wanted to try. (Thank you, Birchbox! Some times you really shine).
Paula’s Choice RESIST Intensive Wrinkle Repair Retinol Serum is a clear serum with very silicon-y feel. I was worried that it’s going to make my face oily or cause breakouts, but it didn’t do either of those things. This serum comes in a fancy packaging that left me with some mixed feelings. On one hand it looks pretty cool and seems to be good at protecting the product from air and sunlight, on the other it feels like there is more plastic than necessary and I can’t tell how much product is left in the bottle and thick walls of the bottle make you think that it contains more product than it actually does.
Birchbox sample (listed as 7 ml/0.24 fl.oz) lasted me just over two weeks with nightly use on my face and neck (one pump of product for each), but it took me only a couple of days to notice improvements. My skin started looking firmer and frown lines softened a bit. Frankly, not by much, but enough for me to notice and get impressed. I didn’t realize it was possible to see effects of anti-aging product so quickly. It actually made a bit suspicious. I used retinol products before (including Paula’s Choice Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment), and they don’t work that fast. Is there some ingredient that plumps up your skin temporarily to give you an impression that the product is working miracles? I really hope Paula’s Choice would not resort to deceptive practice like that.
I’m clearly not the only one intrigued with this serum. It gets glowing reviews and for a while it was sold out on both paulaschoice.com and birchbox.com.
Bottom line: Suspicious or not, Paula’s Choice RESIST Intensive Wrinkle Repair Retinol Serum definitely made an impression. I’m going to pick up a full size and see how that goes.
If you want to try this or any other Paula’s Choice product you can get $10 off your first order of $15+ by using my referral link (I will get $10 as well).

That’s so interesting! I didn’t really notice improvement using this stuff, except that it helped to get rid of milia around my eyes. It’s fascinating how differently things work for different people.
It is fascinating! But it also makes me wonder how useful reviews really are.
In other news, I think the original skin condition is a factor in how much improvement (if any) you are going to see. I disregarded sunscreen during my twenties and I’m really feeling the consequences. Maybe you skin is just in a better shape than mine?
