GlamBag arrived on 17th. Of course I could not resist pick at my Glam Room when it was revealed on 10th, so I know what I was getting. Or I thought I did. I was reminded that Ipsy always finds a way to surprise me, both in good and bad ways. The bag itself is actually a lot more attractive than it looks on their web site. The bag contained.
City Color Be Matte Lipstick in Cappuccino
Doll 10 Beauty H2Glo Highlighter in Champagne
Fig & Rouge Hand Cream in Mango Mandarin
Model Co VOLUMEYES Mascara in Black
Skyn Iceland Cleansing Cloths
I was really looking forward to receiving City Color Lipstick. I’m a big fan of neutrals and mattes, and I’m starting a new job in a formal environment this week, so a new work appropriate lipstick would be really nice. I was really disappointed. The color looks a bit orange-y on me, but more importantly, the lipstick smells old. I can deal with the color, but note with the smell. The highlighter looks pinkish nude in the container, but turns very light shimmer when applied. I think this one holds a lot of potential. Highlighter is my favorite item in this bag. Fig & Rouge hand cream is moderately moisturizing. It smell like mandarin when first applied (what happened to mango?), but then turns into unidentifiable and not most attractive smell. It’s not bad, it’s just odd… I think I’m going to use it as foot cream instead. That way I don’t have to smell it. Black mascara is not the most exiting item in the bag, but it will get used eventually. Plus I’m curious about Model Co brand. So, this is my second favorite item this month. Cleansing Cloths are not particularly exiting, but will get used as well.
Bottom Line: Overall this is a good month. Most of the items will be used. However, the disappointment over City Color Lipstick left a bad taste in my mouth (quite literally).
