This month Beauty Box 5 was the first to arrive, beating Birchbox by one day. I didn’t really look at the spoilers this month, as I found out that spoilers tend to raise your expectations, which in turn leads to disappointment. So, opening the box was quite exiting.
This month I got:
– Perlisse Pur Protect SPF 30
– La Fresh Travel Lite Facial Cleansing Wipes
– Nanaco Lip Gloss in Fist Kiss (full size)
– Roux Anti-Aging Hair Serum (full size)
– Style Essentials Nail Polish (not sure what the color is called, but it’s bright green. Looks like full size)
Overall I’m pleased with August box. There is always place in my heart (and my bag) form mini sunscreen for quick reapplications before leaving work. La Fresh cleansing wipes will be saved for travel. Roux Anti-Aging Hair Sefum (what a fancy name for leave-in conditioner!) smells a bit odd, but I’ll give a try. Anti-Aging claim sounds totally bogus, but I took a quick look at the list of ingredients and it might be a decent leave in conditioner. I wish I got the lip gloss in the nude color, as hot pink is really not my thing, but I guess getting out of my comfort zone can be a good thing. I’m not sure how I feel about thick texture and sweet taste of the lip gloss, but I’ll give it a chance. Green nail polish actually caused me to do a double take, my first thought was “wait… what?”. My second thought was “maybe, a pedicure?” The more I look at it, the more I think this may be great summer pedicure color.
Bottom Line: As usual I did get my money’s worth with this box. Moreover, I appreciate the fact that they try to make selection more exiting (even if that results in excessively bright lip gloss and nail polish).
