Birchbox June 2014

Birchbox June 2014: box contents
June box arrived a bit earlier than I expected. Whatever, the issue with Birchbox warehouse was, I am guessing it’s fixed now. Since I managed to restrain myself and not peek at spoilers opening the box was exciting and slightly scary (I am not even sure why). This months box looked pretty full for a change. It contained 7 samples. I didn’t even know it was a possibility. Even though some samples were pretty small , the quantity alone brightened up my day.

I got Davines Love Smoothing Shampoo, Conditioner, and Ol All in One Milk, Joie Folle de

Joie Eau de Parfum, LAQA & Co Sheer Lip Lube Pencil in Menatour (Purple), Supergoop! Everyday SPF 30 with Cellular Response Technology and Vasanti Cosmetics BrightenUP! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator. The last one is the most exiting sample in June’s box. Exfoliation is one of my favorite topics at the moment, and this generous size sample is much appreciated.  Hair products are always fun to explore. Although I wish conditioner and leave-in product were a bit bigger. My hair is getting pretty long, and I doubt I’ll be able to get more than one use out of these two.  Perfume samples are not my

favorite, but I haven’t got one since February (and that was “welcome” box, so it didn’t take my account into consideration). So I guess I was overdue. The only sample that caused some mixed feelings, if not downright disappointment was LAQA Lip Lube Pencil. On one hand, I read great reviews about the product texture and was really eager to try it, as I have been all about subtle lip color lately. On the other, purple color (subtle or not) is really not my thing. I have fairly pale skin (somewhere between light and light-medium) with distinct warm undertones. Bright and cool colors light this don’t agree with my complexion. They make me look ill. This is the first time I’m seriously considering trading Birchbox sample (for the same product in Coral, maybe?).

Almost forgot to mention, there also  were promo for Benefit products and quiz/giveaway , from JetBlue. I really don’t see much value in such items, but maybe someone else does…
Bottom line: June box will not be my all time favorite, but it’s a pretty decent one.
