After all the shipping delays that seem to plague this month’s box, it finally got here. My March box was pretty good, so I had really high expectations of this one. And that’s probably what set me up for a bit disappointment. Technically, the box is not bad. I got Cynthia Rowley Black Eyeliner, Klorane Dry Shampoo, Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, Supergoop! CC Cream in Light/Medium, KIND Snack bar as a lifestyle extra and Rainy day tip # 4.
I don’t really have use for dry shampoo, as my hair is not very oily, and Supergoop! Sample is disappointingly small. I’ll skip complaining about the rainy day tip and the snack, was they are extras, not replacements for beauty samples. Otherwise, I’d probably be upset about them too. My favorite samples in this box arePaula’s Choice Liquid Exfoliant and Cynthia Rowley Eyeliner. Paula’s Choice brand intrigued me for some time now and I was looking for exfoliant that would help me to remove that “wintery” feel that stuck with me a bit too long. Black eyeliner is not particularly exiting, but something I definitely will use. Last to items made me feel better about April box.
Truth be told, the main reason I’m not very happy with this box is the fact that it did not include Gala nail polish that I was really hoping for.
Bottom line: I had to remind myself that Birchbox is discovery service, and going outside your comfort zone is a good thing. And if you want a specific item, that can be a great use of your points, not reason to be upset.
